What the Copilot is
A general chatbot answers from what it remembers of the internet, figures included. The Copilot works the other way round: before answering, it calls InvestIQ’s tools — the same ones the app uses — and builds its answer from what they return. The language model reads, compares and explains; the numbers come from data and code.
It is open on the right of every page of the app, and full screen in the Assistant. Both are the same conversation. On each research module of Stock Analysis, a button asks the Copilot to explain that card. And the same research is available in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor through the InvestIQ connector.
What it can read
- Stocks: InvestIQ’s analysis and score history, the company file (up to ten years of financials from SEC filings, for US-listed companies), analyst consensus, dividends, price history, news.
- Markets: market overview and movers, macro indicators, earnings and economic calendars, ETF profiles, a screen of the universe of about 600 stocks InvestIQ keeps scored (no score older than a week).
- Your account: your portfolios — positions, performance, risk, concentration, drift from your target allocation, dividend income, the latest audit — your watchlist and alerts, your Deep Research reports and War Room debates.
- The web, as a complement: only after InvestIQ’s own data, for what it does not cover (a recent event, a product launch), with the sources listed under the answer.
How it keeps the figures honest
- 1Figures come from tools: the engine computes scores, ratios and portfolio risk; the model never does the arithmetic.
- 2Cards are checked before they are shown: every figure on a Copilot card must match one the tools returned in that turn. A card with a figure from nowhere is refused, and the model is told which one.
- 3Web figures stay in the text, with their sources — never on a card.
- 4No card may tell you what to do with your money, nor show a buy or sell label.
The explanation can still be wrong: a language model can misread or overstate. That is why the figures are shown with their source, and why errors are logged publicly on the corrections page. The full rules are in the editorial policy.
It remembers what you tell it — and you can see it
Tell the Copilot your horizon, your rules or what you are watching, and it keeps it for the next conversations. Everything it has learned is listed in its memory panel, where you can delete any item. It also keeps a short summary of past conversations, so you can pick up a topic where you left it.
What it does not do
- Place orders or connect to your broker’s trading account: it reads the positions you import, nothing more.
- Recommend buying or selling, or size a position for you.
- Predict prices: it explains what the data shows today.
- Replace your own judgement: it is research, not advice.
Questions to try
- “Why did this stock’s score drop since last month?”
- “Compare the margins of these two companies over five years.”
- “What is my portfolio’s largest risk right now?”
- “Which of my positions report earnings this week?”
- “Explain this valuation card as if I were new to DCFs.”
- “What did we say about this company last time?”
