Use InvestIQ in Claude

Add InvestIQ to Claude as a custom connector and ask about any stock or your own portfolio in the conversation: Claude calls InvestIQ’s tools, which return figures computed by InvestIQ’s engine, and explains them. It takes a minute, and you sign in to InvestIQ — never to Claude with your InvestIQ password.

Claude on the web and on desktop

  1. 1In Claude, open Settings › Connectors.
  2. 2Choose Add custom connector. Name it “InvestIQ” and paste the server URL: https://www.getinvestiq.com/mcp
  3. 3Select Connect. An InvestIQ page opens: sign in, check the access requested, and choose Authorize.
  4. 4Back in Claude, open a conversation and make sure InvestIQ is switched on in the tools menu.

Custom connectors depend on your Claude plan; Anthropic’s help centre lists which plans include them. A connector added on claude.ai is available in the Claude desktop app with the same account.

Claude Code

Add the server from your terminal, then sign in from Claude Code:

  2. 2Start Claude Code and type /mcp, then choose InvestIQ to authenticate.
  3. 3Your browser opens InvestIQ’s sign-in page; once you authorize, it sends you back to Claude Code on your own computer.

The sign-in page says when the return address is a local application, as it is for Claude Code.

Things to ask

  • “Analyze Microsoft with InvestIQ: what drives its score, and where is it weak?”
  • “Compare Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom on quality, valuation and momentum.”
  • “Audit my InvestIQ portfolio: concentration, sector exposure, and holdings with weak data.”
  • “Which healthcare stocks rank highest in InvestIQ’s universe right now, and what drives them?”
  • “Add ASML to my watchlist and alert me if it falls below 600.”

Results come back as text Claude can read and, where the host supports it, as an InvestIQ card in the conversation. Figures come from InvestIQ’s engine — see the methodology — and Claude explains them.

What Claude can access

  • Research on any covered stock: scores, fundamentals, valuation, estimates, results, insider trades, news and market data.
  • Your InvestIQ portfolios, watchlist and investor profile — read when a question needs them.
  • Changes only when you ask: add or remove watchlist tickers, create price alerts, update a position or your investor profile.

InvestIQ receives the parameters of the tool Claude calls, not your conversation. Tools use your plan’s allowance, exactly as in the app. InvestIQ never trades and never moves money. Details in the privacy policy.

Troubleshooting

  • The sign-in page does not open. Allow pop-ups for claude.ai, then select Connect again.
  • Connected to the wrong InvestIQ account. Remove the connector in Claude’s settings, add it again, and choose “Use another account” on InvestIQ’s sign-in page.
  • Claude does not use InvestIQ. Check that the connector is switched on in the conversation’s tools menu, and name InvestIQ in your question.
  • A tool says the monthly allowance is reached. Your plan’s allowance resets each month; pricing lists each plan’s.
  • Claude Code cannot authenticate. Run /mcp again; the browser must be able to open a page on your own computer to finish signing in.

Disconnect

Remove InvestIQ in Claude’s Settings › Connectors (or claude mcp remove investiq in Claude Code). To have InvestIQ revoke the access on its side as well, write to contact@getinvestiq.com.

Questions

Does InvestIQ work in Claude on the free InvestIQ plan?

Yes. The connector is available on every InvestIQ plan; each tool uses your plan’s allowance. Whether you can add custom connectors depends on your Claude plan.

Does InvestIQ see my Claude conversations?

No. It receives only the parameters of the tool Claude calls — for example a ticker — and returns the result.

Can Claude trade through InvestIQ?

No. InvestIQ has no access to a brokerage account and never places orders. The only changes Claude can make, when you ask, are to your InvestIQ watchlist, alerts, positions and profile.

Do the numbers come from Claude?

No. InvestIQ computes the scores and figures; Claude reads and explains them. The method is in the methodology.
