Use InvestIQ in Cursor

Cursor’s agent can call remote MCP servers. Add InvestIQ’s and the agent can pull stock research, fundamentals, valuation and your own portfolio into a notebook, a script or an answer — with figures computed by InvestIQ’s engine.

Add InvestIQ to Cursor

Fastest: add InvestIQ to Cursor — the link opens Cursor with the server ready to install. Or add it by hand:

  1. 1In Cursor, open Settings and the MCP section, then choose to add a new server — or open ~/.cursor/mcp.json (for every project) or .cursor/mcp.json (for one project).
  2. 2Add the InvestIQ server:
mcp.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "investiq": {
      "url": "https://www.getinvestiq.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}
  1. 1Save. InvestIQ appears in the MCP list; when Cursor asks you to sign in, an InvestIQ page opens in your browser: sign in and choose Authorize.
  2. 2Use the agent in chat and ask about a stock; Cursor asks for your approval before running a tool, unless you allow it to run tools on its own.

Things to ask

  • “With InvestIQ, pull the five-year revenue and free cash flow of Microsoft into a table.”
  • “Use InvestIQ to compare the valuation of ASML and Nvidia, then write a short summary in notes.md.”
  • “Get my InvestIQ portfolio’s holdings and write a CSV of the weights.”

Figures come from InvestIQ’s engine — see the methodology and data sources.

What Cursor can access

  • Research on any covered stock: scores, fundamentals, valuation, estimates, results, insider trades, news and market data.
  • Your InvestIQ portfolios, watchlist and investor profile.
  • Changes only when you ask, and each tool call goes through Cursor’s approval unless you turn it off.

InvestIQ receives the parameters of each tool call, not your code or conversation; tools use your plan’s allowance. Details in the privacy policy.

Troubleshooting

  • The install link does nothing. Cursor must be installed and allowed to open cursor:// links; otherwise add the JSON by hand.
  • The server shows an error or asks to sign in again. Use the sign-in or reload action next to InvestIQ in Cursor’s MCP settings.
  • Connected to the wrong InvestIQ account. Remove the server, add it again, and choose “Use another account” on InvestIQ’s sign-in page.
  • A tool says the monthly allowance is reached. Your plan’s allowance resets each month; pricing lists each plan’s.

Disconnect

Remove the InvestIQ entry from Cursor’s MCP settings or from mcp.json. To have InvestIQ revoke the access on its side as well, write to contact@getinvestiq.com.

Questions

Does it work on the free InvestIQ plan?

Yes. The MCP server is available on every InvestIQ plan; each tool uses your plan’s allowance.

Global or project configuration?

Put InvestIQ in ~/.cursor/mcp.json to have it in every project, or in .cursor/mcp.json to share it with one project. The entry is the same.

Does InvestIQ see my code?

No. It receives only the parameters of the tool the agent calls — for example a ticker — and returns the result.

No InvestIQ account yet?

The connector works on every plan, including Free; each tool uses your plan’s allowance.
